The terrorist attacks has lead to many damages. The 9/11 attacks destroyed the twin-towers and killed approximately 3000 persons including the hijackers, and 6000 were injured. Terror attacks can also destroy cars when suicidebombers strike. The enviroment is also affected by this, because bombings is unhealthy for the earth and it can increase the consequenses of global warming. All the damages that terrorism causes is the reason that people are so afraid of terrorists.
Especially after the 9/11 attacks alot of people have been afraid of flying, becuase it is a risk that the plane might get hijacked. When an aircraft gets hijacked it can do alot of damages as we saw on the 9/11 attacks. Many people die, including the hijackers. The first recorded hijacking took place on february 21, 1931 in Peru. The hijackers were armed revolutionaries and they approched the pilot on the ground. From 1948-1957 there was approximately one hijacking each year. Since this time, the security has increased, but people are still afraid, and the damages from hijacking are worse today because of the improved technology.
Different types of terrorism can lead to different types of damages. Political terrorism is used to create fear in the community, which can make people paraniod and it might lead to panic. We can in a way say that this damages the community when people are constantly afraid, and are afraid that people might hurt them.
Religious terrorism where people use their religion as an excuse to commit terror, can hurt other members of the religion. When people blame their religion it might make people think that everybody who follows that religion are terrorists or that the content of the religion says it is right to commit terror attacks.
